National Electronic  Mass Media Council has approved the new composition of the Public Advisory Council for the period from January 20, 2025 to January 19, 2028. The following representatives of associations, foundations, professional institutions and other organizations operating in the fields of media, education, culture, science and human rights have agreed to serve in the new composition of the Council:

  • Ilze Pelša (Association “Latvian Information and communications technology association”),
  • Arta Ģiga (Association “The Latvian Association of Journalists”),
  • Gunta Anča (Latvian Cooperation Organization for People with Special Needs “SUSTENTO”),
  • Sarma Freiberga (Foundation “Fund Come Along!”)
  • Dita Rietuma (National Film Centre of Latvia),
  • Agnese Dāvidsone (Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences),
  • Jānis Ikstens (University of Latvia),
  • Ilva Skulte (Rīga Stradiņš University, Faculty of Social Sciences),
  • Jānis Braunfelds (Riga Technical University, The Institute of Photonics, Electronics and Telecommunications),
  • Baiba Liepiņa (Association “Latvian Advertising Association”),
  • Oskars Teikmanis (Association “The Latvian Association of Young Researchers”),
  • Pēteris Jurčenko (Association “Latvian Open Technology Association”),
  • Dāniels Liecis (Association “Club "The House" - Youth for United Europe”),
  • Estere Upmale (Association “The National Youth Council of Latvia”),
  • Kristers Pļešakovs (Association “Latvian Broadcasting Association”)

The Public Advisory Council is an advisory body established by the National Electronic Mass Media Council, whose task is to ensure public participation in the process of developing the National Strategy for the Development of the Electronic Mass Media Sector, as well as, at the request of the National Electronic Mass Media Council, to provide recommendations, opinions, etc. on other issues related to the operation of electronic mass media.
